Condolences

August 20, 2009
Dear Anthony,

Today marks the 2nd month since your passing. From the kind words I heard of those who gave tribute to you this evening, it makes me misses you more...However, it seemed to have risen to another kind of missing - less painful, (more) sweeter...

Dear Anthony

Your deep love for God's work had been such an encouragement. How you had encouraged our Wicare founding members to begin Wicare Support Group work speaks volume of your care and concern for the widows and fatherless ! I have personally felt how this work has become so close to God's heart. Truly, God had used you to touch so many many lives..also the many widows who have journey back to life !

Personally, you had been my mentor when I was experiencing self-doubts and you had not failed to avail yourself for someone who was so lost. A BIG THANK YOU ! ! Surely I will miss you a lot, a lot.

My sincere and deepest condolence to Mdm Lee Soo Lan, Lucius and Eugene and the extended family of Mr. Anthony Yeo.

May the good Lord give you added strength and comfort. May the peace of God which surpasses all understanding be yours!

I'm thankful for his contribution to Indonesia's seminary students and Christian society. Even though he was busy, he spent time training us. He has helped me so much to be a counsellor and to teach counselling courses. Anthony is greatly missed!

After Anthony's passing on, I read one of his books on dying and death. After reading the book, I believe that as much as he embraced life, he also embraced death as something that is eventual and inevitable.

He was scheduled to be our Group Supervisor next year for a course I am doing and the loss is tremendous as I was really looking forward to experiencing him and his teaching. Though he is gone too soon, he will live forever with the legacy he is leaving behind...

Prayers of peace and strength for Anthony's family, friends and colleagues who have to go on to experience the space he has left.

Dear Anthony,
Just found out via a phone call from C&CC that you are in heaven. Our newborn Alexander missed you!

You will always remain in my mind & heart – your teaching, mentoring through the years; countless little gems you shared about life, children, family, for the people who need a listening ear.

My greatest offering of tribute to your life and your presence in mine would be to live as best as I could, be happy and free and to give to others unreservedly as you taught and showed me. Thank you for being my friend, mentor, teacher and counsellor all these years. Thank you for being the father figure I needed, which helps me call God my Father with warm feelings of being listened to, loved and cherished. Sarah

Dear Anthony

Thank you for listening, guiding and praying with me. You have taught me a different way to cook spaghetti with mushrooms and olive oil - a healthy way. Even though you have departed, we will meet again when we see Lord Jesus Christ.

You have reminded me again that contentment is far more important that any material possession in the world. I also want to live it out daily. God bless you.

Anthony Yeo is now in eternal rest. He passed away peacefully on 20 Jun 2009 with his beloved wife and children by his side. There was a private send off with only family members present. That was how he wanted it.
Many will mourn and grieve the loss of a man who had given his life to be present for others. Although his physical presence is no longer with us, he remains in the words that he wrote and the many lives he touched.
Even in his passing, his thoughts are for others. Anthony had requested that there be no wreaths and all donations be given to Counselling and Care Centre, unless specified for the family (cheque written to "Lee Soo Lan").
Those who wish to send their heartfelt condolences can do so at the Counselling and Care Centre from 23 to 25 Jun 2009 (Tuesday-Thursday), 9am to 5.30pm. You may also wish to sign the online condolence book below.
Anthony's wife and sons would like to clarify that the memorial, as mentioned in the Sunday Times dated 21 Jun 2009, is a private affair, as Anthony wishes it to be.
As we grieve over the loss of Anthony, let us also remember the life he lived and added to others.
